Meet the team: Lewis Campbell
At not just a shop, we have a fantastic team of creative thinkers who all share the same passion for art and design. This month we spoke to our Retail Office and Shop Assistant Lewis Campbell to gain a little insight into his role.

What did you do before joining not just a shop’s team?

I studied English and Film in Edinburgh whilst also working in fashion retail. After leaving university I moved to London, having worked in retail management for 7 years I joined not just a shop as a Retail Office and Shop Assistant!

Which part of your role do you enjoy the most?

Working with Natalie (the brains behind not just a shop) has been an amazing experience, and as I also work for ArtsTemps three days a week it’s great to work with two of our finest temps – Mel and Abbie! not just a shop is definitely a collaborative project – it’s important to speak to members of the team, designers, students, staff, and members of the public about its future.

Who is your favourite designer/artists/entrepreneur and why?

This is so hard! I really love Wes Anderson’s films, as well as Guillermo Del Toro’s work – anything that allows a bit of escapism is good in my books! Having grown up in Scotland, Charles Rennie Mackintosh also has to be on my list as he is definitely the revered artist that everyone would hope to emulate in their own career.

When you are not at work what do you like to do?

I have memberships to both the Barbican and the Tate, so I’m looking forward to using them for the upcoming year! I love going to galleries, museums and trying out new restaurants around London, as well as going for a dance now and again!

Where is your most inspiring place in London?

I’m always inspired when I get the chance to go to the theatre in the West End. I come from a musical theatre background and have always loved every element of the theatre, from the acting to the costumes to the set design.

Finally, what’s your favourite product/piece in not just a shop?

It’s hard to choose just one but I love the ‘Nose to Tail’ measuring tape. I like how this simple idea has so much potential and a strong unique selling point – I recently bought it as a gift and it was a great talking point at a family event!
