Description
Yijing Li’s took inspiration for ‘NHS Blues’ from her experience of lockdown, in particular the going-ons in her neighbour in south east London.
“In the evening I would look out from the balcony and see the city of London light up. Dim lights at first and then the spotlights of St.Paul’s, Tower Bridge, BT Tower, and the Shard coming on one by one. In this familiar scene there is a small change – instead of the disparate neons, all of the landmarks of London are now shrouded in various shades of blue. In this troubling time I find this united tribute to the NHS and the key workers calming.”
