Description
The cotton apron “People” by Marlis Kimfumu was inspired by old photos of her parents life and discovering the stories behind them. This particular design came from a photo of a women and her daughter. Marlis took their silhouette to create a repeat style print.
- The apron belongs to collection of home textiles designed by University of Arts London students, called HOME.
- HOME was a live design brief run in collaboration with UAL’s Creative Shift and not just a shop. The students were commissioned to design a range of homeware inspired by the theme ‘home’ and what emotions this elicits for them.
This cotton apron is not just functional, but also carries the creative essence of the talented UAL designers who explored the depth and meaning of ‘home’.
