Description
‘Voted’ A3 Print by Alexandra Petrova. Alexandra Petrova is a final year student at Central Saint Martins, studying MA Fine Art.
Artist description of work: ‘“Voted” represents the recent Russian presidential elections, which were widely condemned as fraudulent. During elections, some of citizens were burning voting booths or pouring antiseptic brilliant green inside of them. These resistant gestures became the inspiration for my work. Spray painting as a medium carries associations with rebellion and resistance. I developed a stencil with the word Voted. In a country where elections are fraudulent, burning the ballot box becomes a symbolic act of “voting.”’
- All prints are priced at £50 and are limited edition works from students across Central Saint Martins Art Programme, including MA Fine Art, MA Fine Art Digital, MA Art & Science, and MA Contemporary Photography.
- 100% of proceeds directly support the artists’ end-of-year group projects.
