Description
‘Caryatids’ A3 Print by Juliet Cook. Juliet Cook is a final year student at Central Saint Martins, studying MA Fine Art.
Artist description of work: ‘In contrast to the male ‘atlas,’ most representations of the ‘caryatid,’ a female figure used as an architectural support, portray a face and body that express no burden of the heavy load she bears. Perhaps my performance of the caryatid could transform its traditional representation which reinforces the way in which women are bearers of exhausting physical pain they learn to suppress. ‘
- All prints are priced at £50 and are limited edition works from students across Central Saint Martins Art Programme, including MA Fine Art, MA Fine Art Digital, MA Art & Science, and MA Contemporary Photography.
- 100% of proceeds directly support the artists’ end-of-year group projects.
Editions: studioCHASM is a fundraising sale of limited-edition A3 prints, created by final-year postgraduate students from across the Central Saint Martin’s Art Programme. Learn more about the fundraising print sale here.
