What attracted you to your craft?
We were drawn to our craft because of its ability to blend creativity with functionality. Designing everyday objects that people can use and enjoy in their daily lives felt like a meaningful way to bring art into the home. The tactile nature of working with materials like clay, metal, and other mediums allows us to express our artistic vision while crafting something practical and beautiful. It’s that balance between form and function that really attracted us to this path.
What does you typical day look like?
A typical day at 4AM Studio is full of collaboration and creativity. We live and work together, so after a busy day in the studio, we often cook together. Some of our best ideas come while we’re cooking or sharing a meal, and we quickly jot them down. After cleaning up, we head back to the studio to start modelling those fresh ideas. During the day, we’re in the studio working with materials, refining designs, or preparing customized pieces, and we meet regularly to brainstorm and bring new concepts to life.
Does your product have an environmental focus?
Our products are designed to be both emotional and functional, encouraging people to embrace them in their daily lives and reducing waste. By creating beautiful, meaningful ceramic items that resonate with customers, we aim to foster a deeper connection, making them less likely to be discarded. Ceramics inherently support the circular economy as they are durable and can be reused, repurposed, or recycled. By prioritizing sustainability in our sourcing and production practices, we help minimize environmental impact and promote longevity in our designs.
What is the USP (unique selling point) for your products?
Our USP lies in crafting emotional, functional yet humourous products that blend beauty with sustainability.
Where do you find inspiration for your designs?
We find inspiration from various sources, including nature, everyday life, cultural traditions, secondhand markets, movies, and cartoons. Living together as designers allows us to discuss every detail of life, fostering creativity and generating a wealth of ideas. We often discover new concepts during our communal cooking or while exploring the vibrant streets of London. Additionally, we focus on the emotional connections people have with objects, striving to design products that enhance daily experiences and resonate deeply with our customers.
Can you share a little more on how your interest in design started and developed?
We found that many everyday problems could be solved in interesting ways, sparking our passion for design. Inspired by the imaginative worlds of cartoons, we realized that adding little details could make life more colourful.

learning and creativity, empowering individuals to explore their artistic potential while
