‘Masks’ by Andrew Morley

Artist’s Description:

“Inspired by the enduring risks of the operating theatre, ‘Masks’ was created with items that reflect the age of chloroform. On a background pressed with surgical gauze, a page from ‘Essays on the First Hundred Years of Anaesthesia’ (1960) is printed with an image depicting a sculptural assembly of ‘Schimmelbusch’ anaesthetic masks from the early 20th century.”
