‘The Leaf That Watched Back’ A3 Print by Xueqin Peng. Xueqin Peng is a final year student at Central Saint Martins, studying MA Art & Science.

Artist description of work: ‘I placed a leaf between two glass slides and gently burned it, allowing it to carbonize and leave its delicate trace. When seen through a microscope, the burnt surface revealed countless small circles, like eyes quietly opening within the ashes. This image grew from a fascination with how matter remembers touch and transformation. The burning becomes both an act of disappearance and revelation; within destruction, a new form of seeing emerges.’
