‘The Love Bunny’ by Eva Sykes (MA in Fine Art)

Artist Description:

“This is from a larger body of work in which I create human-animal hybrid characters. The features of a baby rabbit are combined those of a cherub. The resulting drawings references old kitsch cartoons and my own childhood nostalgia. This cutesy imagery is in sharp contrast to the unnerving facial expression and blood shot eyes, which creates a sense of comfort and unease simultaneously.”
