UAL x Creative Shift Tea Towel by Marcia Michael

Description

The cotton tea towel “Sharing our stories” by Marcia Michael is influenced by the used of colour and painting by artists Frank Bowling, Aubrey Williams, Denzil Forrester, Sam Gilliam, Robert Earl Paige and Althea McNish. Marcia crosses spaces to converse in a dialogue of free-flowing hand-painted patterning. Marcia, in complementing this creative heritage, creates original and contemporary compositions for the home.

The tea towel belongs to collection of home textiles designed by University of Arts London students, called HOME.

HOME was a live design brief run in collaboration with UAL’s Creative Shift and not just a shop. The students were commissioned to design a range of homeware inspired by the theme ‘home’ and what emotions this elicits for them.
