Our latest Industry Partner Live Brief is a collaboration between sock titans Chatty Feet and second year students studying for a BA in Illustration and Visual Media at London College of Communication in 2024.
As part of their course, all students were tasked with designing a character and creating its associated pun name. Students gained invaluable experience in product development, contracts and IP. The final three designs were selected and manufactured by our industry partner Chatty Feet, giving the students an incredible opportunity to see their designs sold to a broad range of audiences and retail outlets across the UK and internationally.
Students received fair payment for their designs, alongside critical feedback throughout the process and a clearer understanding of how licenses and royalties work.
The final winning designs were ‘Friedrich Kneetzsche’ by Cara Sutong, ‘Cleopedicure’ by Charissa Cheok and ‘Tim Berners-Knee’ by James Milroy.
